Hotline Miami
Initially released in 2012, Hotline Miami is a top-down shooter with a bright ’80s aesthetic and unrelenting action. It’s a game that requires careful balance and quick thinking, but it’s a lot of fun to play.
The game’s story follows an unnamed protagonist who receives mysterious messages, prompting him to commit murderous rampages. He uses a baseball bat to bludgeon unsuspecting goons in the process. Throughout the game, he leaves a trail of blood and guts behind, earning extra points and unlocking new weapons.
The game’s soundtrack is very excellent and has a David Lynch vibe. Players are also encouraged to keep a kill streak going.
